Namitha ready to kick a few butts

The busty bombshell of south slips into the khaki to play a cop in her next movie ‘Deshadrohi’. And she’s not taking her role lightly. After all, playing a stern cop requires more than getting wet in swimsuits or dancing around the trees.

Understanding this well, Namitha has taken a firm resolve to play her role in ‘Deshadrohi’ with utmost sincerity. And she is keeping actress Vijayashanti, whose portrayal of a tough cop in 'Karthavyam' is still unmatched, as her benchmark.


“I'm a crazy fan of Vijayashanti. If I succeed in doing 10 per cent of what she did, I have my career made,” Namitha is quoted by IANS.

So dedicated is the buxom beauty in slipping into the skin of her character that she has become slimmer.

“To make my role work, I have shed nine kilograms and hope to shed three more before the film goes on floors,” Namitha revealed.

But do we really get to see Namitha doing her own stunts in the film or would all her ‘tough cop’ act just be an eyewash?

“I'm going to do some of the risky scenes sans the body double to inject realism and infuse more sincerity,” says Namitha.
